Caring for Your Silk: Dos & Don'ts

Dos: Keep Your Silk Looking Its Best

Silk is a delicate fabric that deserves gentle care. For the best results, wash it separately or with other silk pieces of similar colors. Use cold water on a delicate cycle and choose a mild cleanser like baby shampoo, hair conditioner, or a silk-specific detergent and softener. After washing, hang it to dry in the shade to preserve its softness and sheen.

Don'ts: What to Avoid

To keep your silk in pristine condition, avoid washing it with other fabrics, as rougher materials can cause damage. Never use hot water or harsh detergents like soap nuts or enzyme-based cleaners, as they can weaken the fibers. And when it comes to drying, skip the tumble dryer—air drying is the best way to maintain its luxurious feel.

These care tips also apply to our fine linen-silk fabric.
