"I love this elegant set of artisan 100% pure mulberry silk pajamas, which are black and would definitely make any evening a special occasion with the right companion. This lingerie set arrived in a tiny bag made of some silky fabric, and it was a little wrinkled when I took it out of the bag, but I hung it up and it was fine in the morning. The top is a simple camisole with spaghetti straps and a V neck that isn't very deep, and the shorts have an elastic waistband and a side pleat to make them easier to walk around in. This is a classic design that really doesn't need anything worn with it unless you have a mulberry silk robe."

1. I am in between sizes: M and L, should I order size M or L?
We recommend that you do not size up because our clothing is loose-cut, as silk does not stretch. Therefore, if you are in between sizes M and L, we suggest ordering size M.
2. What does it mean that your silk is 27 momme?
Momme is a standard measurement that indicates the weight of silk. The higher the momme, the higher the weight, quality and consequently durability. Our artisan mulberry silk is 27 momme, which is over 40% more silk than the 19 momme silk often used for mass-produced silk garments.
3. Why does your silk not need to be dry cleaned?
Our silk is produced using traditional artisan methods dating back to the 9th century, allowing it to be washed like it has been for thousands of years, without the need for dry cleaning and its harsh chemicals.
4. Is it true I can machine-wash this silk? How?
Yes, our thicker 27 momme artisan handmade silk is durable and machine washable. Place it in a laundry mesh bag to protect it from other items, then wash it on delicate or hand wash cycle using a detergent and softener for delicates. Tara recommends washing silk with shampoo and conditioner to maintain its lustre and softness. Simply add 1 tbsp of shampoo and 1 tbsp conditioner to 1 cup of water, add to your washing machine, and wash on a delicate cycle.
5. I really dislike ironing! Will I end up having to constantly iron these silk garments?
Tara and many of us here at Tara Sartoria share your dislike of ironing, and that's precisely why we love silk! Silk's lightness allows body heat to naturally soften and remove wrinkles over time. So, in reality, all you need is a quick steam, or none at all if it's sleepwear. Additionally, washing silk with shampoo and conditioner can result in fewer wrinkles when drying.
6. What is the deal with French seams?
French seams are a high-end finishing method used in haute couture and luxury garments. It takes about twice as long to make the garment and more fabric because the seams are sewn twice. But, the result is a durable garment with a polished appearance inside and out.
7. Can I wear this daily?

This set comes with a drawstring storage bag and a hair elastic included. I'm 5'8" 125lbs 34A and ordered the size medium which fit well. I think that the top of this does run large (kind of boxy) but having the adjustable straps helps to fit it and since silk has no stretch, I'd rather have loose than too fitted. The top and bottom are both well-constructed and sewn. Overall, this is a very good quality pajama set.
The black 2 piece silk pajama set is very soft and comfortable. The material is not stretchy, but it is light weight and moves with you some. It is not intended to be a tight fit or form fitting, but a bit oversized so that it hangs. So, read the sizing chart and order accordingly. If like me, it may not be the size you are accustomed to ordering. The laundering instructions are extensive, hence one complete tag is included to cover the different requirements (see photo). Even being silk and well sewn, I feel the set is a little overpriced.
These are great for sleeping or lounging around the house. The color is so sharp looking...more clothes should come in mulberry 🫐 The fit is as expected and the stitching is pretty strong.

I didn't feel comfortable with that, so I hand washed this lingerie set, hung it up to dry, and it came out just fine, almost as wrinkle-free as it was before washing it. I love this beautiful, well made set of mulberry silk lingerie and am pretty sure I need the dark rose set just as soon as there's a good sale. I ordered my usual size, and it fit well with room to breathe. This set is wonderfully soft and silky, especially when you sleep in it, and you can wear this as loungewear as long as you're sure no one will be dropping by. I love this lingerie and think every woman should have a set of gorgeous silk lingerie at least once.
